The advice note aims to safeguard the integrity of the FSC system by addressing integrity risks in relevant supply chains. To reach that goal, FSC asks FM/CoC certificate holders to participate in transaction verifications and help collect samples for wood identification references when requested.

The same requirements apply to FSC CoC certificate holders and are mentioned in the FSC-STD-60-004 V2-0 EN International Generic Indicators standard.
