Together with an English version that was launched earlier this year. The course explains FSC-STD-50-001 (V2-0) Requirements for use of the FSC trademarks by certificate holders, which came into effect on 1 March 2018.

The course is available on the FSC eTraining Platform. It introduces the FSC trademarks and gives an overview of their general use on product and for promotional purposes.

The training course presents the main requirements on how to label and promote FSC-certified products in an interactive way. Through labelling and promotion with FSC trademarks, certificate holders can:

1)    highlight their success in sourcing responsibly forest-derived materials;
2)    inform consumers that their purchasing choices help taking care of the world’s forests.

Learning about the correct use of the FSC trademarks can help certificate holders to create accurate messaging about the meaning of FSC. It also encourages them to present these messages in a more unified way and may increase recognition of their accomplishments.

Certificate holders may also use the course as a tool to train relevant staff if they intend to implement a trademark use management system and to approve their trademark use internally.

Certificate holders may find instructions on how to access the trademark training courses in English, French, Spanish and Chinese Mandarin via the FSC Trademark Portal, under ‘Resource Center’. For any questions certificate holders should get in touch with their certification body.
